Lindsey Mathews [@gigemlindsey], delivered a much needed wake up call for Power Athlete Nation at the 2017 Symposium. Lindsey is birth doula, a NLP practitioner, and a doctor of chiropractic and founder of Birthfit; a movement to cultivate awareness and enhance education throughout the motherhood transition. Lindsey and her team drop some real talk, functional education, and intentional training to ensure that women have the space to make their own informed, intuitively guided choices.

The wake up call that hit many of the beefcakes in the room at the 2017 symposium was neither PRing your squat nor ripping the game winning homerun consist of the the fondest moment in life. In fact, those pale in comparison to mothering a child. Yet the amount of training that the medical world provides towards creating a positive birthing experience for mothers is far from satisfactory.

Within Birthfit, the journey to motherhood is enhanced through focused training in fitness, nutrition, chiropractic, and mindset. We find out how movement is the catalyst for a successful motherhood transition; the period between conception to the end of the first year of life. Do you understand the importance of this "Golden Period"? Probably not.

Did you know that this is a window of opportunity for lifelong cognitive, social and motor development? Did you know that everything mom feels baby experiences? Did you know that with mom's movement, you can tap into the neuroplasticity of baby to develop the nervous system... even when baby is in utero?!

YEAH! WILD STUFF!

Lindsey breaks it all down for you in her "MUST SEE" 2017 Symposium talk.
