Adam Nelson [@adamnelson5376], 3x Olympian, Olympic and World Champion, in track and field, closed out the 2017 Power Athlete Symposium and broke off the audience with his talk. It is very rare that you'll get a candid and up close look into the mindset of an Olympic champion. What is revealed isn't some magic set and rep scheme; it's a mindset.

In the late 80's most 8th grade kids were ramping their BMX bikes, playing pick up sports, or feverishly stomping on a Nintendo Power Pad trying to beet Cheetah in World Class Track Meet on Nintendo. Adam was set up in his room reading An Athlete's Guide to Mental Training, just one of many "quirks" that laid the foundation required to become an Olympic gold medalist. What you will find in Adam's talk is that somewhere in the cross-section of the mindset to dominate in competition, the ability to suffer and endure, and timely mentor ship is the catalyst to become a champion.

Listen to Adam recount his journey to the Olympics starting from his childhood. As he reflects on training milestones, mentors, coaches, injuries, and moments on the world's largest competitive stage, the Olympics, we begin to discover the immense gap between the Olympic athlete and the every day guy or gal. As we peer through this lens Adam helps us by laying out a framework for domination that we can embrace in everyday life.
